Description

We offer this great sounding Gibson A-1 snakehead mandolin from the Lloyd Loar era. From what we can determine the serial number places this from the 1923/24 time period. It is in good playing condition with comfortable action and remarkable resonant tone. There are the expected small dings and marks from age and use but the instrument remains attractive. There have been past minor repairs to the binding and neck joint but the instrument is structurally solid and ready for stage. It has a modern adjustable bridge and a replaced tailpiece cover and the tuners are replaced but are vintage, otherwise the instrument appears all original including the original tortoise pick-guard still in good condition and doing its job. Comes with its original hard case which remains usable with all latches working.
